About "Another Dose of Hope":
Because I love to write, I have started this blog. It is the second blog I have created [the first being a string of depressing posts from my darker days], and I think it really reflects my heart. "Another Dose of Hope" is about a plethora of things. I write often about my faith and small 'revelations' I have [my husband calls them "deep thinks"], as well as the things I am passionate about!
If you have, indeed, read some of my posts, you might feel there is a lack of symmetry between the subjects. The linking idea, however, is in the title of this site. "Another Dose of Hope" comes from a poem I wrote when I was 19. I often feel as if I have fallen short in my faith, as if I've disappointed God. This leads me to wonder and question often. I am not one to accept what I am told without evidence. I take the time to consider what is logical and assess the facts. Time and time again I have fallen to my knees at the feet of God, weeping and begging forgiveness. This is the point when God fills me up, giving me, as I have said, "another dose of hope."
This blog is intended to be honest, but also to fill its readers with another dose of hope. It is meant to make you struggle and give you discomfort, because I believe that we can only come to God when we realize our intense, deep, innate need for Him.

Another Dose of Hope
A fluorescent moon rises
A fluorescent moon rises
breaking through curtains
of black, shining rays of life
upon my darkened face. Scars
from yesterday trace my skin
hinting at a hidden past.
The armor I've placed around my heart
is cracked by the words
You pour over me
You whisper beauty in to
this broken world and
even as the pain reminds me
who I've once been
You remind me who I've always been.
My flesh struggles with
Your truths
while the enemy of my soul
tugs on ropes of war.
But You never relent.
And so I stand, your light upon
my face; scars disappearing,
armor failing, and You fill
my soul with another dose of hope.
